Meeting was called to order by President Roger Cook
Board members in attendance: Roger Cook, Roger Abbott, Burt Guerrero, Dave Bentley,Carole Rising, Jack Oestreicher Members absent: Woody Owens, Steve Ciepiela, Nick Manole
Sgt. Natalie Sanchez gave a police report. Sgt. Sanchez reported that there were 9 crimes in our area in January 2010. Six of these were burglaries. She was asked if we could be notified by email of these crimes so that we can notify the neighborhood. She would check on this.
President’s Report:
Minutes of the January 5, 2009 Board Meeting were approved by the board. Roger reported that the District 8 DOZ plain appears dead. He said that not much else is happening in District 8 at this time. Roger reported that we need to establish a 2010 budget. He will meet with Dave Bentley and Roger Abbott to come up with a budget to be presented at the next meeting
Treasury Report: Roger Abbott reported that the December Treasury report was posted on the web site. Dave reported that the membership is going down about 1% over the last few months. It is now at 42.37%. The board stated that we need to address this problem at a future meeting. He also reported that the police patrol cost have increased from $40 to $52 per hour.
Block Captain Report: Burt reported that we now have 16 block captains (11 active) covering over 310 homes in the GHNA. He reported that he still needs help in organizing our community into a comprehensive “neighborhood watch” area. Roger C. said that he sent out a group email message requesting people to support this program. The board encouraged members to recruited people to serve as Block Captains
Garden Club: Carol reported that the next meeting will be at her home on Feb. 24th

Minutes of the Jan. 6, 2009 board meeting were approved by the board.
President’s Report: Roger Cook reported that he has received 250 calendars from the Water Authority. He plans to distribute these calendars through the Block Captains with a note for “Glenwood Hills Group” web site sign up procedures. He also reported on the District 8 Coalition meeting. See Web Site for his report.
Dave Bentley reported that the January 2009 expenditures/income is published on the web site
City of Albuquerque Recycling Update: Leonard Garcia, Director, described several proposed initiatives that relate to solid waste and recycling services and rate changes for residential refuse and recycling customers. Proposed rate changes would include garbage cans for recyclables. Rate increases would be approximately 2-3$a mouth depending on garbage can size.
Foothills Police Report-Commander Anaya, APD, reported on area crime. He indicated that auto thefts have shown a constant increase over the last couple of years. He also reported that the crime internet site, www.CrimeReport.com, which we plan to list on our web site, is funded by the APD police department.
Marc Lachey presented a security patrol report. Marc indicated that he has structure the patrol schedule for February and March to match the 2009 patrol budget.
